1. 2. 3. 2.

Brooklynn has learned how to say 2!

I don't where, how or when she learns these things but she just starts spitting out these new words from time to time. She came home one day after spending time with my sister and had a new word to tell us. The word.. "NO".

My sister babysits a little boy a few days a week and he is a little over 2 years old and his vocabulary is a little more advanced than Brooklynn's. Anyway, on this particular day she was babysitting both him and Brooklynn. I guess it was his "NO" day. Brooklynn came home and started saying that word (along with "Yeah") and we thought "Great, now she's got that word down."

But anyway we have been reading her a counting book. The book is about ladybugs and counts backwards from 5 to 1. But as we go down we count up. We point to each ladybug and count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Then we turn the page and do it again. We did this for a while and one day we got to 2 and she says "2". I think 2 is her favorite number because every time she gets that book in her hands she opens it to the number 2 page.

Well, she also knows what number 2 follows. Today in the car we were on our way home and we were saying words and Brooklynn repeated them. We say "Baby" and she says "Baby". We say "Ball" she says "Ball". Mommy said "1, 2, 3". Brooklynn said "Two". So then Mommy says "1..." and Brooklynn says "2..." and Mommy says "3..." and Brooklynn says "2!" It made us laugh. She knows that 2 comes after 1, but she also thinks it come after 3 as well. She will get it. Shes off to a good start.
