The Follow-Up

Well, if you didn't follow Facebook yesterday then you may not know about Emmerson's follow-up appointments.

Well, they all went great!! They did a total of 2 different exams and then we met with Dr. Cain.

The first exam was just a ultrasound on his kidneys and bladder.

The second exam wasn't so much fun for him. They took an x-ray of his bladder, but in order to do that they had to fill it up with a liquid that they could see on the x-ray. So they had to put in a catheter in order to get the liquid in there. So they filled up his bladder and waited for him to pee and they took pictures the whole time so they could see how the bladder looked full and as it emptied. They were also checking to see if any urine was still backing up into his kidneys. There wasn't any back flow or anything. Thank goodness.

Then we had to wait to see Dr. Cain. We got more good news with that. Dr. Cain told us that he has shown marvelous improvement for only 6 weeks, but he still has some healing to go.

We have one more follow-up appointment in 6 months.
