Tuesday, the 11th of September 2001

So I have been seeing on Facebook what people have been posting about where they were and what they we doing on this day 11 years ago. So I thought I would tell you mine.

I remember this day. I was in 1st Hour at school and the Principal came in and told us that something had happened in New York involving the World Trade Center. First hour was almost over and when it ended we all went to a room where they were watching the events. The towers had already been hit by the planes.

Unfortunately, I had to go to class even though these historical events were unfolding. By the end of the class one of the Towers had already collapsed. As I was standing there the other Tower collapsed as well and they (newscasters) mentioned that the Pentagon had also been hit by a plane.

As the day unfolded all the pieces came together as I continued to watch and listen about these events. I heard of flight (United) 93. Where it was later said that people united and took over the plane and crashed it in a field preventing it from going where ever it was headed and whatever damage it was going to do. It is fitting I think that it was a United flight that united and stopped what was going to happen.

 This is one of the moments in history that I will always remember.
